Sector Led Programme Manager Vacancy

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to support the Eastern Region with Sector Led Improvement hosted in Children’s Services within Norfolk County Council. This role will shape and transform our Services across multiple workstreams and regional groups, covering the 11 Local Authorities in the Eastern Region with a proactive approach to improvement.

We are seeking an innovative manager to work alongside our regional groups. The ability to be a problem solver with a solution focused approach are qualities we look for in our managers.

An individual with experience of working with Education or Social Care or both would be desirable for this role. Project management skills and the ability to drive the Regional Improvement agenda are essential to be a successful candidate. You may be currently working in one of the Local Authorities in the region and we would welcome that expertise.

You will ensure that the regional groups are facilitated in a pro-active, engaging way that ensures good practice is shared. You will be an excellent communicator across different audiences in a multi-Local Authority environment. This role will lead the Regions Self-Assessment activity, building the narrative and direction of travel. Most meetings are held virtually but there will be the occasional in person meeting to organise and attend.

You will ensure that regular reporting to the Senior Management Group is fit for purpose and based on the available information from the minutes of the many regional groups. This is an opportunity to deliver high quality support to drive good outcomes for Children and Families in the Eastern Region.

This post is funded until April 2023 with potential for an extension if the role continues to meet the Region’s needs.

All our office-based roles are currently working from home as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and safety of all our colleagues. Working remotely will be a feature of this role and as such we seek an exceptional candidate irrespective of where they live. When offices re-open, the office base for this role will be County Hall in Norwich, with a small commitment of meetings in the region during the contract. Visits to Norfolk will be by negotiation.
