Feeling Safe and Loved campaign launched

10th December 2021

A new campaign has been launched helping parents and carers to understand the things that help children feel safe and loved.

There are lots of reasons why caring for a child can be tough. Unexpected things happen, or sometimes things just feel like they’re too much. But it’s important to remember that children want to feel safe, loved and cared for by their parents, even if times are tough.

We asked children in Norfolk “What are the things that your parents and carers do to help you feel safe and loved?” and got some brilliant answers. Take a look at the video below

New resources on the Just One Norfolk website can help parents and carers find out what they can do to make a difference, and how family and friends can help too. Resources include information on Family Networking, mental health support and information on financial assistance.

These resources aim to help parents and carers consider where influences, sometimes outside of their control, might be causing them to not meet the needs of their child. Every situation is different, and there is no ‘one size fits all’ answer. A variety of topics are covered, and enable those working with families to discuss the issues in a new way with parents and carers.

The video is available on Youtube and NSCP’s Twitter account, and is free for anyone to use to prompt conversations with families and carers. For more information or for an editable version of the video to use in your locality, email Nathan at nscb@norfolk.gov.uk.
